4. For question #2, what did you do differently from the original post? Please outline, explain and justify what you changed & why. Essentially, what did you learn from this new topic and what did you change and why. (8 Marks)Compared to my original introductory post, there are a couple of things I did differently, firstly I kept in mind the F-Pattern, using headlines and justifications for them, unlike my original post which was one long paragraph that did not necessarily follow the pattern.(Briscoe, W8 – A – Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 33, 57, 58, 59.) In my new post, I made sure to make it look good by including images, along with captivating headings, and short sentences, making sure the most crucial information about Vending Glow is placed at the top, I used these techniques based on what I learned in how users scan websites, (Briscoe, W8 – A – Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 45, 46, 57-59.) this gives readers an easier time to scan and read through my content and quickly find whatever they were looking for in the first place.(Briscoe, W8 – A – Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 18, 62.) I also made sure to insert plain english language into my content, because in my original post the content was long, over-explaining things and I changed it by shortening it, using words that my target audience understands and imply daily, while being ,more direct and not going off track or having irrelevant information. (Briscoe, W8 – A – Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 22, 41-42, 53.) I questioned and paid attention to every word I stated and eliminated anything that was not relevant or did not make any sense. I kept the most important and crucial points that strictly explain my business and what it offers. (Briscoe, W8 – A – Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 70.) This makes it easy and clear to understand and perceive.(Briscoe, W8 – A – Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 3.) I paid a lot of attention to my target audience, how they would engage with this content, what questions they might have and the way they would read it and receive it and also how would my audience use it and when.(Briscoe, W8 – A – Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 20 29.) People would want to use these products at the gym, or around nightlife bars and clubs, if they are traveling or just going out with their friends downtown. I also made sure the post is organized and appealing to people, adding images that match my content, to ensure people have a visual in their head not only information, I also focused on spacing to make it look better and make it easily scannable for people. (Briscoe, W8 – A – Plain Language Writing (W25).pdf, Slide 57-59, 71, 75.) In conclusion, I learned that making these kinds of posts are not just about writing or having content, it is also about it being presentable, easy to scan through, find, relate to and engage with. My content is shorter, simpler, clearer, organized, looks better and effective.
